Rangers will need to pay £2.6m to land Antonio Colak as PAOK look to recoup what they paid for the Croatian international striker.

That’s according to Greek football journalist Georgios Sideridis, who works for Greek outlet Yellow Radio and who has extensively covered the story since it broke.

The journalist claims that the Greek side are expecting a higher bid from Rangers for the forward with Antonio Colak keen on a move to Ibrox.

This backs up claims in the Scottish Sun which had suggested the big 28-year-old striker was keen on a move to Rangers after being wowed by the Ibrox atmosphere last season.

The striker downed Rangers with a deadly double whilst on loan at Malmo in last season’s failed Champions League qualification effort.

That report also claims that PAOK after looking for close to £2.5m for the striker, which is the same amount they paid to bring him to Greece from Croatian side Rijeka in 2020.

Interestingly, the report claims that Antonio Colak is ready to choose the Gers over four other sides who’re interested in his services.

Whilst these clubs remain unnamed for now, all the reports point to Rangers leading the Antonio Colak hunt for now.

Rangers fans are getting antsy about a lack of transfer business as the Ibrox club’s notoriously tight-lipped transfer dealings fail to let anything slip.

It remains to be seen what kind of a role Antonio Colak would be playing at Ibrox either with Rangers already having Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos in the striker positions.

But could that also be about to change amid links to a team of Champions League underdogs?
