David Anderson of the Mirror has delivered what appears to be a major Rangers transfer boost with an update on Leeds United’s interest in Ryan Kent.
Last summer, the Whites moved for the Gers winger but saw a bid in the region of £10m rejected [BBC Sport].
It was suggested that higher bids could follow but the speculation eventually died down and Kent stayed put.
He then played a major role in a successful 2020/21 season, scoring 13 goals and notching 15 assists as the Gers won the Premiership title and went deep into the Europa League.
Kent’s performances unsurprisingly attracted attention, with Leeds mentioned again recently [The Athletic].
However, in an apparent major boost for the Gers, Anderson claims that while Marcelo Bielsa remains an admirer, his club aren’t actively pursuing the 24-year-old.
He says that interest could be ramped up if other targets aren’t landed but claims that he’s not currently a priority.
Just a line on Ryan Kent who is being linked again with Leeds. Leeds have tried to sign him before and he is someone Bielsa admires. They are not currently trying to sign him, but that may change if they cannot land the wingers ahead of him on their hitlist. #lufc

Kent made his return to action following a niggle in Rangers’ 1-0 pre-season defeat to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
He looked a little rusty at Prenton Park but Bears know exactly what he’s capable of when firing on all cylinders.
His numbers last season were superb and if he’s still at Ibrox when the transfer window closes, Rangers have a much better chance of defending their Premiership crown.
Rangers fans are also hoping that an exciting young talent is given the chance to stay at Ibrox for next season.
