French journalist Manu Lonjon has claimed on Twitter that Leeds United have made an offer for Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey, which could possibly affect their pursuit of Rangers winger Ryan Kent.
Newly-promoted Leeds are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season and on Wednesday, the Sun reported that they had tabled a £10 million offer for Kent.
Steven Gerrard confirmed the approach on Friday morning, stating that it had been swiftly rejected by the Gers [Clyde 1 Superscoreboard].
It seems Kent isn’t the only wide player the Whites have an interest in, though.
Lonjon tweeted on Friday afternoon that the Premier League newbies have also made an offer to Bayer Leverkusen for Bailey.

The Jamaica international, who was reportedly on Manchester United’s radar earlier in the summer, has been rated at a whopping £40 million [Daily Mail].
Rangers fans know all about the 23-year-old’s ability, as he netted Leverkusen’s third goal in their 3-1 victory at Ibrox in the Europa League in March.
Leeds reportedly make move for Bailey amid Kent interest – Verdict
If Leeds genuinely are interested in Bailey, it could be good news for Rangers.
Both Bailey and Kent are usually deployed on the left wing, so it’s likely that Marcelo Bielsa would only be looking to bring one of them in.
Should Leeds be able to afford the Leverkusen speedster, there’s a chance the German club would be willing to sell, too, given that he appeared more regularly from the bench last season than in their starting XI.
Rangers signed Kent for £7 million from Liverpool just under a year ago [The Times] and would stand to make a profit from any sale this summer, but he is a key player for Gerrard and he has started the season well with two goals in four league appearances.
