Chris Jack has inside information on Rangers pursuing a deal to sign Josh Windass from Wrexham this summer.
The summer transfer window does not open until 15 June, but with a deal to sign Lawrence Shankland already in place, things are gathering pace at Ibrox.
Ben Jacobs reported on Monday that Rangers have rekindled their interest in Windass after having an approach turned down by Wrexham in January.
Danny Rohl is reportedly driving the charge to bring the 32-year-old back to Govan, although talks between the clubs are yet to begin.

Chris Jack shares Josh Windass to Rangers transfer update
The news has sparked widespread discussion among the Gers faithful about whether Windass would be a good addition to Rohl’s ranks.
Reputed Rangers journalist Chris Jack has now addressed those claims, revealing that he has already spoken to people working behind-the-scenes.
He quashed claims that the Glasgwegian outfit are pursuing a deal to sign Windass, disclosing that the Wrexham ace is not even a target for the club this summer.

Jack acknowledged that the attacker shares a good relationship with Rohl, having worked together at Sheffield Wednesday, but a reunion is not understood to be on the cards.
Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel, he said: “On Josh Windass, this is not one that we believe is on the agenda. This is not one that Rangers are pursuing as it stands.
“He has that relationship with Danny Rohl, he worked with him at Sheffield Wednesday, that makes it an easy link to make, but I checked it out last night, and got very little encouragement on it.
“As far as we understand, it’s not one that is on Rangers’ radar for this summer.”

Rohl right to snub Windass at Ibrox
Windass was linked with a return to Rangers in the January transfer window, but a transfer did not materialise, as Wrexham insisted he was not for sale.
A move for the Englishman midway through last season made sense, as he would have bolstered the team’s hopes of pushing for the title.
However, Rohl is right to avoid the temptation to rekindle his interest in bringing Windass back to Ibrox this window.
The truth is, he has already had his time at Rangers, spending two seasons with the Premiership heavyweights before joining Wigan Athletic in 2018.
At the time, Windass claimed that he did not feel valued by the Light Blues when they accepted a £2.5million bid from Wigan.
It is evident that he was not on the best of terms with the club when he left, and bringing him back risks reopening old wounds.
