Heerenveen might’ve confirmed that reported Rangers target Joey Veerman has been subject to a bid this summer but that hasn’t stopped the Dutch club taking him on a training camp.
Midfielder playmaker Veerman, 22, is one of 23 players who’ve been included in the special pre-season camp ahead of the club’s Eredivisie campaign [Heerenveen].

That’s certainly not the behaviour of a club who believe a player is set to imminently leave and perhaps gives a hint as to how far any proposed deal is from being completed.
Rangers reportedly launched a deal for Veerman last week with the news first breaking via an “in the know” poster on popular Ibrox fan forum Follow, Follow.
This would then be ratified by reports in the Netherlands and Scotland, although there was some conjecture regarding an asking price.
Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claimed the Gers had bid €4.5m (£3.8m) for the player, €1m less than Serie A side Hellas Verona and half of Heerenveen’s reported asking price.
However, Rangers friendly journalist Chris Jack would report via the Glasgow Times that the Ibrox club was preparing a £7m (€8.1m) package in order to lure Veerman to Glasgow.
Heerenveen themselves would then confirm that there had been a bid for the player but are keeping things low key as they refuse to be drawn on the interest, or where it came from.
“Joey is a Heerenveen player and still has a three-year contract,” said Ferry de Haan [Glasgow Live].
“A club has come forward and we have also indicated to Joey that we are looking at it. There is no further news.”
A visionary midfielder who plays killer balls through the lines – and also has an eye for goal – a move for Veerman has fans excited and plenty are getting impatient regarding the Dutchman’s future.
But given Veerman’s inclusion in a Heerenveen training camp, it suggests they’re going to have to wait a little longer to find out what happens with the midfielder.
This transfer saga might only just be getting started as Rangers look to strengthen ahead of their Champions League qualification campaign and the domestic season starting.
Rangers will be hoping that if the move is a goer, that it can be resolved for both kicking off.
However, there have been claims that in order to fund the deal, Rangers will have to sell before they can buy.
