Former Rangers star Jamie Ness is on trial with Scottish Premiership rivals Motherwell as he looks to secure a new side ahead of next season.
The midfielder, 30, is most famous for that long-range Old Firm strike against Celtic in February 2011 where Ness netted within three minutes in an eventual 2-2 Scottish Cup draw.
Most recently with Dundee – for whom he was released in October 2020 – the Daily Record have revealed that Ness is currently on trial with the Steelmen.
The midfielder even played in a bounce game against Dumbarton as he looks to win a contract with Graeme Alexander’s side.
Since leaving Ibrox Ness has made over 100 appearances in the lower leagues of England but he first broke through with the Gers in season 2010/11.
After two years in the Gers first-team, Ness left Ibrox during the events of 2012 and would sign a three-year deal with then Premier League Stoke City.
Ness only played once for Stoke – in the league cup in his first season – and went out on loan to Leyton Orient and Crewe Alexandra during his time at the club.
The Rangers Academy product would then have spells with Scunthorpe United and Plymouth Argyle before returning north to play with Dundee before his release.
Jamie Ness will now look to secure a full-time deal with Motherwell as they prepare for next season in the Scottish Premiership.
