Rangers manager Michael Beale was giving nothing away when pressed on the future of Scott Wright amid high-profile links to Preston North End.
The former Aberdeen attacker, 25, looks set to swap Ibrox for Deepdale in the summer with reports gathering around Scott Wright and Preston.

But when asked about the situation involving the former Aberdeen winger, Rangers boss Michael Beale was decidedly coy as he discussed the fringe players in his team.
Without naming names, Michael Beale suggested there were difficult conversations to be had aplenty as he sets about trimming the club’s fat.
“There’s a few players in the squad that I’ve had conversations with about their futures,” said Michael Beale following the 2-2 draw with Hearts.
“I wouldn’t pick their names out as specific ones, there’s other players in the squad who want to know where their futures lie in terms of minutes and in the grand scheme of things. It wouldn’t be right to name certain names.
“There’s no ballpark number, we want to reduce the number of players in the squad and we want to re-energize in terms of age and people’s motivation. It’s a fantastic club to sign for and I’m looking for players with real energy to come in.”
Is Scott Wright heading to Preston?
There is much change set to happen at Ibrox this summer, with several high-profile stars on the verge of leaving the club and others beefing out a bloated squad.
Beale has a clear vision for the way the side is headed and, if you’re not in it, you get the feeling the ex-QPR manager will be straight with you.
As the reports gather around Wright and Preston, Rangers fans will think what mightha ve been with the winger who has talent but lacks authority and consistency.
Having scored eight goals in total for Rangers since joining from Aberdeen in January 2021, Wright is yet to score a single goal this season despite being involved in 34 matches.
