Rangers star Ianis Hagi finds the net against Hibs to take the next step in his Ibrox recovery after a devastating injury halted his promising career.

The Romanian playmaker, 24, suffered a devastating cruciate ligament injury in the 4-0 defeat of Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup in the January of 2022.

After spending over a year on the sidelines, Ianis Hagi has slowly begun to be reintroduced to the Rangers team and against Hibs the midfielder took the biggest step in his recovery yet.

The £3m ex-Genk midfielder, who has been at Rangers since the January of 2020, finished with aplomb to score Rangers’ 2nd goal in a routine enough 3-1 victory at Easter Road.

After a disappointing first half, you only had to take a glance on social media to see major doubts creeping in regarding the midfielder’s ability to get back to the top of his game.

But after lashing in the club’s 2nd against Hibs, that goal can help reignite an emotional Ianis Hagi’s Rangers career and helps him get the goalscoring monkey off his back heading into next season.

Once regarded one of European football’s brightest talents, Rangers have missed the creative ability and goalscoring exploits of the attacking midfielder since he’s been out.

Ianis Hagi is a big game player – as proven by that legendary Braga comeback double – and he has shown his class in big games ever since signing for Rangers.

So much so that the likes of AS Roma were linked with a £17m move for Ianis Hagi back in September 2021 but after such a big injury there were fears that reputation might be lost forever.

By finding the back of the net against Hibs, Ianis Hagi has sparked hopes that a comeback could be on next season and if the Romanian can get back to his old form the pitch, then surely his valuation will return off it too.
