Hibernian have submitted an improved bid for Rangers utility player Ross McCrorie, according to a Scottish Sun report.
Following Wednesday night’s victory over St Johnstone, Steven Gerrard confirmed the Hibees’ interest in McCrorie and claimed that talks were ongoing [BT Sport].

That followed a report which had suggested that any potential deal looked to be off after the Gers rejected an offer of £200k [Scottish Sun].
The Scottish Sun now claims Hibernian have returned to the table with an improved bid, as manager Jack Ross is ‘desperate’ to sign the former Scotland U21 skipper.
It’s suggested that McCrorie himself is keen on the move as he looks for regular playing time.

Hibernian submit improved McCrorie offer to Rangers – Verdict
McCrorie has gone from a ‘potential future captain’ to a fringe player in the space of just a few seasons and it looks as though his time at Ibrox is up.
As the only recent Academy graduate to fully break into the first-team – earning 55 appearances in total – it’s a shame that Gerrard apparently now sees no place for the versatile 22-year-old in his plans.
McCrorie featured in pre-season but hasn’t made a Premiership matchday squad yet, so the move to Hibs – who have started the season well with three straight wins – makes sense.
Rangers likely have a figure in mind regarding a transfer fee but they would also do well to include a buy-back clause if they do eventually sell.
