Rangers media partners Heart & Hand have urged supporters not to take recent transfer claims attributed to the outlet as “gospel”.
The leading Rangers fan media outlet, which has close ties with the club and is a generally reliable source of information on the Gers, was speaking after a special event at New Edmiston House.
One X user claimed that David Edgar – the platform’s host – told the watching crowd that Ridvan Yilmaz, Kieran Dowell, and Cyriel Dessers have been told to find new clubs this January.
This then spread like wildfire around social media and in private group chats with the three players in question under increasing scrutiny in at Ibrox.
Heart & Hand quell Rangers transfer rumours
With Ridvan Yilmaz and Kieran Dowell hampered by repeated injuries, Cyriel Dessers has failed to remotely justify the quite remarkable £4.5m spent on his services this summer.
Responding to the claims, Heart & Hand host David Edgar has cooled the reports and suggested he was only musing over who Rangers might move on in January.
“We’re just talking about potential moves as part of a show, don’t take it as gospel,” responded Edgar on the official Heart & Hand account.
The comments and the subsequent attention they gathered come at an interesting time for Rangers ahead of the January transfer window.
Big window awaits Clement
Whilst Philippe Clement steadied the ship in the aftermath of his appointment, old issues in the squad have come to the surface in the last two matches.
The Belgian’s first window is on the horizon and the pressure is on to keep Rangers in a title race over a hectic run of festive fixtures before he can operate on the squad.
Helping Clement is former Genk colleague Nils Koppen, who joins as the club’s Director of Football to complete the footballing board at Ibrox.
Both the Rangers manager and the club’s new recruitment boss have an almighty transfer window on their hands but at present Heart & Hand have inferred nothing is set in stone, with this trio at least.

Ridvan Yilmaz has struggled to repay the initial £3.4m spent on his services since a move from Besiktas last summer, whilst Kieran Dowell’s end-of-contract switch from Norwich has been disappointing.
Cyriel Dessers has been unable to even get off the bench in the last two matches and at present the 28-year-old could go on to be one of the biggest flops in the club’s history.
