Hamilton chief, Ronnie MacDonald, has spoken to the Scottish Sun about the future of Eamonn Brophy.
Late last month, TEAMtalk reported interested from Rangers in the now Kilmarnock forward.

The 23-year-old netted twelve times in the SPL last season, helping his side to a Europa League spot.
Furthermore, he was rewarded for his displays with a surprise call up to the Scotland national team, for Euro 2020 Qualifiers against Cyprus and Belgium.
MacDonald, who watched Brophy comes through the ranks with Accies before sealing a switch to Rugby Park, isn’t surprised by his success. He also confirmed clubs are circling for the forward, with Hamilton set to benefit from any sale.

“There is a sell-on clause for us if he moves on and I do believe he will,” he told the Scottish Sun. “I know there are clubs interested in him.”
“Why wouldn’t they be? The only Scottish player who scored more goals in the Premiership than him last season was David Turnbull of Motherwell.
“Nothing he’s done in the past two seasons has surprised me. I sent him a text when he got in the Scotland squad and he sent a nice text back. You want to see the guys you view as ‘your boys’ doing well.”

Verdict

Club insider account Four Lads Had a Dream were quick to dismiss links to Brophy and several other players.
However, while the player’s future is as yet undecided, rumours will continue to swirl.
Despite being under contract until 2021, Brophy is rated at £450k [Transfermarkt], so is unlikely to cost the earth. His 12-goal SPL return last season constitutes a decent, yet relatively unremarkable effort.
According to the TEAMtalk report, Leeds and Derby are also interested.
Is he really the calibre of player that would take Rangers forward?
