Journalist Dean Smith has claimed that Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is “most likely” to stick around at Ibrox amid summer transfer interest after the appointment of Michael Beale.
The Finnish international star, 27, has been the subject of much transfer interest over the last few windows with plenty of links from Ligue 1 and Serie A.

There was even talk in the summer window of a £10m switch to OGC Nice, which is said to have collapsed on deadline day [Scottish Sun].
It’s led to much transfer talk over the future of Glen Kamara, with a downturn in performances under previous manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst being supplemented by the perception the ex-Dundee star wants to leave.
But Glen – like many in the squad – is a player resurgent under former Ibrox assistant Michael Beale and now Dean Smith is claiming that a stay beyond the summer is “likely”.
Glen Kamara “likely” to stay at Rangers?
This is due to the player being considered a key part of Michael Beale’s Rangers vision, the fact that he is contracted to Ibrox until the summer of 2025, and amid a downturn in Glen Kamara transfer interest.
“The stance I’ve heard on this ever since Beale came in is that he is a player he really trusts and would like to use as he steers his way through this season,” said Smith [Give Me Sport].
“And if we see enough of him between now and the end of the term, as I would expect us to, he will most likely stick around. There’s not the level of interest there once was either.”
Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been a superb signing for the Ibrox club ever since the reported £50k transfer from Dundee in the January of 2019.
After just over four years at the club you can’t blame the transfer talk surrounding the Finnish midfielder who has previously discussed how open he is to a switch abroad.
We reckon it probably depends on the stature of club and the fee they’re willing to pay for Glen Kamara with Rangers holding all the transfer cards over his future.
Meanwhile, Rangers manager Michael Beale has been tempering the expectations around Nicolas Raskin.
