On Wednesday evening, Rangers booked their passage to the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup, with a comfortable victory over Cowdenbeath.
It was a solid, if unspectacular showing.

After the match, Steven Gerrard was asked about the club’s plans for transfer deadline day.
Immediately, he poured cold water on the chances of more arrivals at Ibrox.
However, he did suggest that a departure was all but confirmed.

“Regarding outs, Jordan [Rossiter] is very close to joining Bury”, said the manager, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“He’s been down there all day and it’s 99 per cent done.”
This would be a first loan spell away from Ibrox, for Rossiter.

The midfielder arrived from Liverpool in July 2016, but has failed to make a major impact.
He has been plagued by injury problems during his short career, causing him to miss an incredible amount of matches.
Serious calf injuries have restricted him the former England youth international to a paltry 10 league appearances, with just the one goal.

No doubt, Rossiter will have picked his brains before heading down for negotiations.
We will look out for confirmation on this one throughout the day.
