When Steven Gerrard left Rangers and joined Aston Villa, he was linked with a host of former players, now, at Al Ettifaq, he has been linked with a former teammate in Jordan Henderson.
Saudi Arabia is seeing an influx of European stars and it is only natural that managers will want to bring in players that they know to a league that, if they are honest, they will be clueless about.
If Steven Gerrard does persuade Jordan Henderson to head east, it says everything about the rumours linking Rangers players too.

Having been at Liverpool for over ten years, money probably isn’t his motivation but, for those figures, you couldn’t really blame him.
If a club has that sort of spending power, why would the look at players like James Tavernier and Scott Wright who have also been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia?
Wright, in particular, was said to be a specific target of the title winning Gers boss.
If Steven Gerrard has those resources why would he target a winger that played over 30 games without scoring a goal last season?
As with when he went to Aston Villa and was linked with Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo before signing Phillipe Coutinho from Barcelona, he is shopping in a totally different market now.
It would be nice if our old manager could square us away though and help to get a few players off the wage bill, however, after seeing what has happened with Al Nassr, I’m not sure I’d be selling players to Saudi Arabia any time soon.
Would be a shame if you had just sold your biggest asset and didn’t get paid mind….
