Formerly Rangers linked striker, Daniel Sturridge, is still searching for a new club following his release from Trabzonspor in March.
Reports claimed the Gers were interested in the Champions League winner last summer, as his six-year stint at Liverpool came to an end [Sunday Post].
However, no move to Ibrox materialised, with the player instead joining Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor.
The 31-year-old scored seven goals in 16 appearances there but his contract was terminated by mutual consent in March when he was hit with a four-month ban for breaching betting rules [BBC Sport].
After spending lockdown in LA, the player is now back in the UK and training at non-league side Kidsgrove Athletic, as he looks for a new club.
In August, Sturridge said that returning to the Premier League would be his preference but that he was open to playing in other leagues and countries [The Sun].

Sturridge scored 68 times and registered 26 assists in 160 appearances for Liverpool and if the game was purely about numbers, it would be a surprise that he hasn’t yet found a new club.
However, the former England international has had significant injury issues throughout his career, with muscle problems playing a part as he failed to complete a full 90 minutes during his six months in Turkey.
The striker’s high wage demands always made it unlikely that Rangers would be able to afford him and even though he’s available on a free, at this stage, there’s little chance of Gerrard making genuine enquiries about his former teammate.
Strange things happen in the final stages of transfer windows and if the Gers finally do sell Alfredo Morelos, they may look to recruit another forward. Yet, it must be said, it would be a big surprise if that player was Sturridge.
