Several months ago, Ravel Morrison told the Times he had held talks with Steven Gerrard about a possible move to Ibrox.
That was after he had sparked rumours of a switch by following Rangers, the manager and several Gers players on Instagram.

However, a move failed to materialise.
Instead, the attacking midfielder signed for Swedish club, Ostersunds. He spoke about a clean slate and an opportunity to get his career back on track [The Guardian]. Yet, just as with multiple other sides in a checkered career, he failed to settle.
The former England youth international made just six appearances during his time in Scandinavia [Soccerbase].
Somewhat remarkably, though, that hasn’t put off Premier League new boys, Sheffield United.
On Tuesday afternoon, they announced the signing of the 26-year-old on an initial one-year deal.
“Ravel is an undoubted talent and we are delighted that we have put together a deal that suits all parties,” manager Chris Wilder
“We are getting a fantastic footballer with a tremendous pedigree and this is a great opportunity for Rav, we believe we can help him get back to the level he wants to be.”

Verdict
This is Morrison’s eighth different clubs since leaving Manchester United in 2012. It’s pretty remarkable that he can still work a move to an EPL side given his past failings.
Yet, as Wilder says, the buckets of ability he possesses has ensured he now has yet another chance to make it big.
However, even if he does finally make the impact he’s been tipped to since a young age, Gerrard made the right decision in not chasing him.
The manager is trying to build a cohesive squad to challenge on multiple fronts. The last thing they need right now is an unpredictable maverick.
