Former Rangers loanee Florian Kamberi sealed a late move to Aberdeen on deadline day on loan from Swiss Super League club St Gallen [Afc.co.uk].
Kamberi spent the second half of the curtailed 2019/20 season on loan at Ibrox from Hibernian and quickly endeared himself to the club’s fanbase.

He described his switch to the Gers as his “dream move” [STV] and labelled the supporters as the “best in the world” [Daily Record].
The 25-year-old didn’t do enough to earn a permanent deal, though, only scoring one goal and registering two assists from his nine appearances in all competitions.
Instead, Hibs sold him to St Gallen in the summer window and Rangers strengthened by bringing in both Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten.
Yet, Kamberi endured a nightmare first six months back in the country of his birth, and after falling down the pecking order at his new club, he has managed to secure a return to Scottish football on loan until the end of the season.
Aberdeen brought the 6ft 2″ forward in as well as Fraser Hornby and Callum Hendry, with Sam Cosgrove and Curtis Main leaving Pittodrie.
“I’m pleased again to further enhance our attacking options,” said Dons boss Derek McInnes of Kamberi [Afc.co.uk]. “Florian has shown his quality in our league over a period of time and again, once we knew there was an opportunity to get him, we pursued it quite vigorously.”
“He seems enthusiastic to be here. He has got undoubted quality, experience in this league and we’re hopeful that will help him settle quicker. I’m positive he can have an impact between now and the end of the season.”
There was plenty of late activity at Ibrox, too, with Scott Wright and Jack Simpson both joining the club on four-and-a-half-year contracts from Aberdeen and Bournemouth respectively.
