Former Rangers loanee, Emerson Hyndman, has secured a move to the MLS.
Hyndman has been a Bournemouth player since 2016 but has barely featured for the Cherries. Instead, he’s been sent on a series of loan postings, the first of which was at Ibrox.
Arriving in January 2017, he turned out 13 times for the club in the SPL. In general, he performed well, scoring four goals, registering one assist and netting the club’s Young Player of the Year award. That’s despite only being with the Gers for half of the season.
Last term, he returned to the SPL. However, this time he was in Hibs colours. The 23-year-old started twice against the Gers in two draws back in December.
It seems his time in British football is over for now, though, as he heads back to his homeland. The United States international has joined Atlanta United on loan with the 2018 MLS Cup winners holding an option to buy Hyndman at the end of the 2019 season.
While young Hyndman gave a good account of himself at Ibrox, the quality of midfielder at the club has stepped up recently.
Classy operators like Steven Davis and Glen Kamara pull the strings, while the highly rated Joe Aribo has just joined the playing staff.
