Rangers are closing in on Danilo as Feyenoord eye up Monaco striker Myron Boadu to take his place at De Kuip.
After weeks of rumours, it looks like Rangers are finally on the verge of bringing Danilo to Ibrox.
Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad report that Feyenoord have now agreed a deal to sell Danilo to Rangers.
The move will be worth around €6million (£5.2million) with Rangers finally having an offer accepted at the fourth attempt.
This is handy profit for Feyenoord, who signed Danilo at the end of his Ajax contract last summer.
The Brazilian responded by scoring 14 goals in all competitions last season but ultimately ended the campaign as second-choice to Santiago Gimenez.
Danilo should be given a much bigger role at Rangers, possibly partnering a former Feyenoord striker in Cyriel Dessers.
We have seen Michael Beale use a diamond in midfield at times and that could mean somebody features behind Danilo and Dessers in the final third.
Feyenoord chase Myron Boadu to replace Danilo
The Eredivisie champions now need to find a striker and have been chasing Cercle Brugge hitman Ayase Ueda.
Algemeen Dagblad’s report now highlights that Feyenoord fancy landing Monaco forward Myron Boadu.
Boadu would be a major signing for Feyenoord having joined Monaco for a hefty price of €17million (£14.5million) in 2021.
The 22-year-old was prolific at AZ Alkmaar with 38 goals in 88 games, but has only managed nine goals in 58 appearances for Monaco.
Arne Slot may now see Danilo’s exit to Rangers as a chance to reunite with Boadu and get his career back on track.
Slot worked with Boadu at AZ, just as he did with imminent Feyenoord signing Calvin Stengs.
Danilo’s move to Rangers is freeing up room for Feyenoord to make attacking additions and another name in the mix suggests that the Rotterdam side have practically waved goodbye to the Brazilian.
