Zambian attacker Fashion Sakala celebrates scoring his first goal for Saudi club Al-Fayha following his summer move from Rangers.
The 26-year-old scored a classic Fashion Sakala goal to round the keeper in first-half injury time for Al-Fayha’s second goal in a 3-1 Pro League victory.
The African did very well to break the offside break before tearing away, rounding the Al-Khaleej goalkeeper and tearing away to celebrate.
Staying true to form, Fashion Sakala then took to Twitter to celebrate opening his account for the Saudi side, including his catchphrase “dreams don’t die” as he praised the strike.
Fashion Sakala is Al-Fayha’s marquee signing this summer with the club paying a reported £4m to complete a deal for the Rangers forward.
The announcement video for the attacker certainly raised a few eyebrows and everyone at Rangers is hoping to see the likeable forward make the grade at an excitement moment in the Middle East.
The feeling between Fashion Sakala and the Rangers fans is almost certainly mutual, with the forward’s emotional goodbye tugging at Ibrox heartstrings.
Fashion Sakala off the mark for Al-Fayha as Rangers move on
Whilst Fashion Sakala didn’t always make his mark at Rangers, with the forward missing big opportunities in big matches, there is a direct, unpredictable and potentially lethal option there if he can put everything together.
Michael Beale admitted that he was “counting” on Fashion Sakala this season and it’s opened up much speculation surrounding a potential replacement for the Al-Fayha bound star.
But it was another player that Rangers have lost this summer who was specifically namedropped by Michael Beale when talking about this window’s remaining transfer business.

“If you look at the forward areas, we lost Malik, Antonio, Morelos, Kent and Fashion Sakala,” said Beale.
“We’ve lost five and brought four in. You’re hoping Kemar or Tom Lawrence will make a massive impact this year, that they weren’t able to do last year.
“The one area we’re probably a little bit light is someone like a Ryan Kent. Whether we’ll get there between now and the end of the window, or do we find that within in our squad? Time will tell.”
Prior to his move to Al-Fayha, Fashion Sakala made 91 appearances for Rangers over two seasons, scoring 21 goals, winning the Scottish Cup and helping the club to the Europa League Final.
