Rangers are interested in snapping up Ajax left back Anass Salah-Eddine but will face competition from Italian side Torino.
Rangers have been linked with so many left backs in this January transfer window and yet none have signed.
One name has caused some confusion; reports in the Netherlands suggest that Rangers have made an approach to sign FC Twente left back Gijs Smal.
The Scottish media are adamant that Rangers aren’t interested in Smal at all and there will be no deal for him this month.
Rangers could still look to the Dutch market though and a new name is being linked with a move to Ibrox this afternoon…
Rangers keen on Ajax talent Anass Salah-Eddine
Fabrizio Romano now reports that Rangers are keen on Ajax left back Anass Salah-Eddine.
Romano states that Ajax are open to loaning out Salah-Eddine until the end of the season and Rangers are a potential destination.
It’s suggested that ‘several clubs’ are interested in Salah-Eddine with Torino ready to challenge Rangers for his signature.
Romano notes that nothing has been agreed just yet but we could see movement on Salah-Eddine’s future before next week’s transfer deadline.
Salah-Eddine hails from Amsterdam but only joined the Ajax ranks at 16 having previously been in the AZ Alkmaar youth setup.

After impressing for the Jong Ajax side, Salah-Eddine stepped up to first-team level but has only ever made 10 senior appearances for Ajax.
Salah-Eddine has only played six league games this season and none since a seven-minute substitute appearance against Vitesse Arnhem in November.
It may now be time for Salah-Eddine to go out on loan again as he spent last season with Twente, ironically offering competition for the aforementioned Smal.
Salah-Eddine can also play in midfield and the 22-year-old will be a talent on Nils Koppen’s radar given his knowledge of the Dutch game.
Rangers may now push to land Salah-Eddine on loan and potentially pave the way for Ridvan Yilmaz to move on, but a battle with Torino could make things tricky in the coming days.
