Michael Beale has spoken about one or two Rangers players maybe moving on and one off those could be Ianis Hagi.

With a less than a week before the transfer window closes, the Romanian international appears to have been given the go ahead to find a new club.

Promises of game time can’t be assured and, Gheorghe Popescu, president of Faul Constanta, would love to sign Rangers playmaker Ianis Hagi, as reported by The Rangers Review.

There is one small problem though.

Popescu might run the Romanian champions, however, Gheorghe Hagi, who is manager of Constanta, remained tight lipped on any potential move for his son.

Rangers exit looms large for Ianis Hagi

Popescu has backed Rangers number seven to become a big player again but Ianis Hagi won’t be playing for his dad any time soon:

“We can’t afford Ianis Hagi.

“It would be sensational if we could afford to bring in a player of Ianis’ stature, but unfortunately not.

“I am convinced that Ianis will return to the highest level, to a very, very good team.

“His talent is extraordinary and I am sure that things will go back to normal as soon as possible.

“As far as I know, there have been no offers for him.

“But when he makes his decision about his future, he will pick a club that will be good for him and he will return to his best form again soon.”

Most of the stories linking the Rangers playmaker with a move away have come from Turkey and, with Ianis Hagi counting as a home grown player, it’s easy to see why.

Trabzonspor and Besiktas have both been credited with an interest and Galatasaray, due his dad being a club legend, have always been in the mix.

Popescu is right, there has never been any real doubt about Ianis Hagi’s talent but consistency has been an issue in the past.

Under Michael Beale, Hagi has never really had the chance to impress but, as the previous first team coach, the current Gers boss should know as well as anyone what he is capable of.

Which makes his current plight more straight forward is because of this.

Beale has signed other players and has put them ahead of Hagi in the queue for minutes.

Keeping Hagi in the squad keeps the quality high but, if an acceptable offer comes in then it will be accepted, even if it won’t be from his biggest fans.
