Following Edinburgh City’s 5-0 defeat to Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Cup Fourth Round on Saturday afternoon, Rangers loanee Aidan Wilson spoke exclusively to Rangers News.
Wilson equipped himself well individually during the game, but he was fighting an uphill battle as a member of a League Two outfit against Premiership opposition.
It was his ninth outing for the Citizens and it came just a few days after the young defender had extended his loan deal until the end of the season.

He had actively opted against returning to Ibrox, in order to continue playing in the fourth-tier, despite there only being six months remaining on his current Rangers contract.
Why?
“The main thing was that I was playing at Edinburgh City,” he explained. “I was enjoying it.”
“The Gaffer is great here, he’s worked really well with me and in terms of the conversation with Rangers, it was pretty straightforward.
“I wanted to stay at Edinburgh City. They’re ambitious, they want to go for the league – that’s what I’m after and I’m playing, so long may it continue.”

He went on to assert that getting a run of senior appearances was his priority over returning to Ibrox for Development team football.
“You can’t really complain with first-team games, can you? Regardless of the standard or the league. League Two is a tough, tough league, though.”
“I just want to do the best for me and the best for Edinburgh City while I’m here and hopefully, we can reach the goal of winning the league.”
Aidan will next be in action away at Stenhousemuir on Saturday afternoon, as City set about trying to reduce Cove Rangers’ five-point lead at the top of the table.
