Exciting new Rangers goalkeeper Aaron Cervantes says signing his Academy deal was the ‘best feeling in the world’ [Rangers.co.uk].
The 19-year-old former Orange County SC goalkeeper joined the Gers on trial in December 2019.

He subsequently returned to the States but signed a Gers contract in October 2020, before jetting over to join up with his new teammates late last month.
Cervantes made the bench for an U18 league match last week and he’s delighted to be at Rangers.
“The trial period was awesome, getting to see the facilities and see what my goal was for that year,” he said [Rangers.co.uk]. “I think it is a great place to be for a young footballer.”
“It was the best feeling in the world to sign for the club, my whole family was proud of me. I had worked towards it for the whole year so to come over here and sign was a good feeling.
“When I signed with Orange County we talked about going to Europe. It has always been part of the plan so I don’t think it was too big of a change for me, I think it was expected almost because I have been working towards it for almost my whole life.”

Cervantes is the first player Rangers have signed from their partner club and there are high hopes for him.
He made 18 appearances for the OCSC first team prior to his switch, recording five clean sheets, while he also represented the USA at the U17 World Cup in 2019.
Rangers’ plans for Cervantes have been disrupted somewhat by the pandemic, but they are now likely looking to get him involved in Academy action over the remainder of the season before sending him out on loan to continue his development.
Meanwhile, a Premiership manager is seeking talks with Rangers regarding a pacy winger.
