Former Rangers striker Umar Sadiq is set to leave Almería this summer in a bumper €30m (£25m) deal, the CEO of the Spanish club have confirmed.
Only this week rumours that the lanky Nigerian international forward, now 25, was set for a £21m move to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund had been rubbished by Fabrizio Romano.

However, there is believed to be plenty of interest in the striker as his explosive goalscoring form for Almeria helps fire them to La Liga.
Umar Sadiq has 41 goals and 19 assists in 81 games for the Spanish club and has continued his rich vein of scoring form that earned him links to Man United whilst in Serbia with Partizan Belgrade.
With that division set to kick off this coming weekend, Almeria CEO Mohamed El Assy has confirmed a sale is imminent but was tight-lipped on Sadiq’s destination.
Ex-Rangers striker Umar Sadiq to bank Almería a fortune
The Spanish club’s chief was talking after Umar Sadiq was left out of the squad for an Almeria friendly with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal in Burton.
“Umar Sadiq has not travelled to England to avoid any type of injury that could stop a transfer that is close at this time,” said El Assy [Football Espana].
“He will be sold for a little less than €30m. We have 12-13 other players that have received offers, they are players who have a prestige in the market and you hope that they have a great future.”

Rangers fans are well used to Umar Sadiq being linked with moves to some of Europe’s top clubs but now it appears the striker could genuinely make a megabucks move in the window.
It’s a long way away from the ineffective forward signed by Rangers on loan from AS Roma in 2018 and Umar Sadiq has had a solid career trajectory ever since leaving Ibrox, the striker putting his failed six months in Glasgow down to a frosty relationship with Steven Gerrard [Sunday Post].
Meanwhile, a one-time reported Rangers target looks set to visit Ibrox after all as the Champions League stage is set.
