Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has claimed in a video picked up by a fan on Twitter, that he would consider playing for Rangers.
The 33-year-old has had a colourful club career, representing eight different sides across multiple countries since first leaving Ajax in 2007.

He is a two-time Eredivisie winner, while he also won the Turkish Super Lig during a stint with Besiktas between 2017 and 2019.
Babel has an impressive 63 senior caps for the Netherlands and is perhaps best known for his spell with Liverpool between 2007 and 2011, during which he played alongside Steven Gerrard.
It seems he still holds great respect for the Gers manager and says his presence could tempt him to Glasgow.
‘I think I would play for Rangers just for the fact that Steven Gerrard is the coach,” said Babel in the video picked up by a fan on Twitter, taken from a Soccer Bible Q+A on Instagram.

Some Bears might feel a little put out that he hasn’t referenced the club’s esteemed history alongside the comment on Gerrard, but plenty would be able to overlook that if he joined for the 2020/21 season.
Many would argue that the attacker – who is known for his blistering pace – hasn’t fulfilled his considerable potential in the game and at 33 he’s no spring chicken.

He’s still a player of real pedigree, though, who would undoubtedly improve the current Gers team.
However, it must be recognised that it’s highly unlikely the club would be able to pull off his signing.
The Dutch international – who was in the middle of a loan stint at Ajax before the suspension of football – is contracted to Galatasaray until the summer of 2022 and would likely demand wages well beyond what the Gers could afford.
