EPL and international regular, a previous target and towering hitman – Rangers three pre-contract striker options

It’s safe to say that Rangers didn’t quite nail the summer rebuild and that Philippe Clement still has work to do over the next two transfer windows.

He will have help off Nils Koppen who, having started work at Auchenhowie, will hopefully be able to help the Gers boss to fine tune his squad.

Rangers will need more depth up front when Kemar Roofe’s contract expires in the summer and these are the realistic pre-contract agreement options available to Philippe Clement just now.

Rangers could sign these three free agents under Philippe Clement

I’ll warn you now, it isn’t an extensive list but it is one that, if you consider Danilo as first choice and Cyriel Dessers as back up, then it makes more sense.

There are three players; a Premier League and international regular, a frustrated youngster we have been linked with before and, a left-field gamble full of potential.

Che Adams

I watch Che Adams and all I see is Kenny Miller.

Energetic, a menace, physical and fast, but erratic when it comes to finishing.

At most clubs he has a goal every three ratio and one, in England, that is better than Miller’s.

With Southampton sitting in third place in the Championship, he is clearly biding his time before making a decision on his next contract.

At 27-years old and with a good level of experience at elite level, he would be a solid addition to Rangers forward line and Philippe Clement would love his attitude.

Tyrese Campbell

Had the chance to join Rangers under Steven Gerrard and Clement could do a lot worse than the 24-year old Stoke City striker.

A goal contribution rate of one every three games would surely be improved at a team that dominates possession and creates more chances.

He is a great example of a player who could contribute as one of three or four forwards but you wouldn’t hang your hat on him to be first choice every week.

On a Bosman, he would be really low risk with the potential to make a profit.

Nick Woltemade

If you are a Bundesliga fan you might be aware of the towering Germany Under-21 international.

Yet to make a proper break through with Werder Bremen but has scored goals prolifically at youth level and in the Bundesliga 3 on loan last season.

At 6ft 5inches tall, he would provide Rangers with something different to what Philippe Clement currently has and would be a cheap, risk-free gamble.

Personally, I’ve always liked Che Adams and think that he would be a great fit for the new look Rangers team under Philippe Clement but Woltemade could be a lot of fun too.

Could one of these players be seen at Ibrox in the summer, or maybe even sooner?
