According to a Soccer Link report, Dijon want Rangers left-back Borna Barisic.
Yet, it’s suggested that the Ligue 1 club are already keen to prise him away from Ibrox.
It’s stated that he is seen as a suitable replacement for Tunisia international Oussama Haddadi, who is heading for Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.
Dijon maintained their top-flight status by a whisker last season and are clearly looking for better returns this time around.
Given that and their need for a left-back, it’s little surprise that Barisic’s name has come up, following strong recent displays for Croatia.
Yet, just yesterday, the 26-year-old was quoted reiterating his devotion to Rangers [Football Scotland]. On the back of those comments, it would seem strange if his head was turned.
What’s more, while he disappointed at times last season, Rangers simply don’t have enough cover at left-back to let him go. He’s the only naturally left-footed full-back in the squad, with Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday the back-up options.
After a promising display in Gibraltar last week, if offers materialise from Dijon or elsewhere, they aren’t likely to be met with much enthusiasm.
