Daniel Amartey has been let go by Leicester City, one year after being linked with a move to Rangers.
The 28-year old Ghana defender can play centrally or at right-back, but is now looking for a new club.
In a summer of transition, Michael Beale will strengthen throughout the team and Daniel Amartey of Leicester City would be an easy target for Rangers after being released by the relegated Premier League side.

The 48-times capped international might be available and a quick fix given the previous reports linking him with a move to Ibrox, however, it’s one that we should avoid.
Why Daniel Amartey should be avoided by Rangers
Amartey has been poor this season for his 24 appearances, then there is his £57,000 per week salary.
An established Premier League defender he might be but Daniel Amartey would be an expensive backup for Rangers given that James Tavernier and Connor Goldson are two of the first names on the team sheet.
Then there is the form of John Souttar, the emergence of Leon King, who is currently training with the senior Scotland squad, and the signing of Dujon Sterling, Rangers are well stocked for right-footed defenders.
Rangers summer transfer business has been good so far, three in the door without a fee paid and a good mix of senior experience and exciting potential.
Amartey fits the model in that we have signed players before who were expected to be first-team ready at this stage of their careers but there simply isn’t a space for him in the squad given the salary he would likely demand.
Ironically, he might have been useful last season when Souttar and Filip Helander were injured before Goldson hit the deck against Liverpool and wasn’t seen for three months.
Now though, we are better stocked and better prepared.
Amartey has all the hallmarks of a last-minute signing during pre-season but times have changed, Michael Beale is on track, and the pieces of the jigsaw are coming together nicely.
Expensive panic buys should be a thing of the past.
