Cyriel Dessers sent Rangers a firm reminder that he still has the finishing touch in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen.
The Nigerian international striker, 30, has found himself out of favour at Rangers as of late as Atlas Lion Hamza Igamane roars onto the scene at Ibrox.
It’s been a complicated 18 months for Cyriel Dessers at Rangers, the striker having sometimes blown hot and oftentimes cold in Glasgow.
But just as Cyriel Dessers reminds Philippe Clement that he knows where the back of the net is, the hitman himself admits a January exit could well beckon this month.
The striker also warned would-be suitors that there is a ‘certain price’ they will need to pay to make a transfer happen.

Cyriel Dessers tells Rangers ‘we need to talk’
Cyriel Dessers has been strongly linked with a number of moves to the continent as he finds himself on the bench at Rangers.
La Liga outfit Leganes are the latest club to be mentioned, whilst Serie A side Cagliari and Ligue 1 outfit Saint Etienne have been subject to reporting in Italy and France respectively.
Cyriel Dessers is no fool and has been speaking about Hamza Igamane claiming the Rangers striker berth in recent weeks.
The Moroccan talent, 22, has seven goals in his last six games and opened the scoring in the 3-0 rout over Aberdeen.
Dessers paid tribute to the hitman but claims taking a substitute role has been ‘difficult’ and admits that Rangers might look to cash in this month.
“Last month I lost my starting spot,” Dessers told Voetbal International.
“The boy who is playing now is also a good striker, he also scores. I try to support him and help him because I want the team to win. But it is difficult.
“I don’t know what my situation is now. I can imagine that Rangers might want to earn something from me this month.
“But January is a difficult window. Clubs that are doing well probably also have a striker who is performing well. And few clubs that need goals will immediately have the millions ready.
“We’ll just have to wait and see. I’m at a great club, but I’m 30-years-old and want to play every week, preferably at Rangers.
“If there are different feelings about that internally, then we need to talk.”
’Certain price’ will see Cyriel Dessers leave Ibrox
The question then is how much will Rangers hope to recoup for Cyriel Dessers this January?
Rangers paid relegated Serie A side Cremonese £4.5m for Dessers’ services back in the summer of 2023 but they’d be hard-pressed to recoup such a fee this month.
When asked by the Dutch outlet if he might return to the Netherlands, Cyriel Dessers admitted that he has a ‘certain price’ only a ‘few clubs’ in the Eredivisie could afford.
“Back to the Netherlands for me? Difficult,” admitted Dessers. “Feyenoord now has three excellent strikers. The other clubs I played for also have a special place in my heart.
“But I do have a certain price and there are only a few clubs that can pay that. In any case, I want to play in a serious competition, for the prizes. The fire is still burning.”
