A Sky Sports report suggests that the transfer chase for Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has taken a big twist.
Earlier this week, it appeared that five clubs held an interest in the striker.
According to il Resto del Carlino via Glasgow Live, the Colombian international is on a shortlist of two for Serie A side Bologna, while Foot Mercato reported that Brighton, Sevilla and Sassuolo are all also interested.

Yet, the latter outlet claimed Lille was still the player’s preferred destination. Morelos had allegedly agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side but an agreement hadn’t yet been reached regarding the fee.
Now though, Sky Sports reports that Lille have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of another target and as a result, their interest in El Bufalo could be over.
It’s claimed that the French club have agreed a fee of around £27m with Belgian club Gent for the transfer of Canada international Jonathan David.
Should that signing go through, it’s highly unlikely that Lille would attempt to recruit another attacker, considering they also signed experienced Turkey international Burak Yilmaz last week.

Verdict
Jonathan David has been named a number of times already this summer as Lille’s number one target and it appears they’ve finally got their man.
Given that Steven Gerrard admitted after the defeat to Bayer Leverkusen that Morelos had had his head turned by the French club [BBC], this is likely to be disappointing news for the striker.
The Rangers board may also consider it a frustrating turn of events.
If the reports are to be believed, there’s no shortage of interest in Morelos, with Brighton, Sevilla, Sassuolo and Bologna all theoretically still in the running.
Yet, so far, Lille were the only side to put in a concrete offer.
There’s still plenty of time left in the transfer window, though, and this could mean that Rangers fans have at least a few more weeks to enjoy El Bufalo playing in Light Blue.
