At the start of the 2018/19 campaign, few could have imagined either Alfredo Morelos or James Tavernier turning out for Brendan Rodgers.
However, things have changed dramatically since then, and TEAMtalk reports that both players are targets for the ex-Celtic turned Leicester City boss.

It’s suggested that the Foxes could go on a bit of a spending spree over the summer. Especially, if they sell two of their current star turns, Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell.
The report states that Lewis Dunk, Daniel Sturridge, and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney are all also of interest.
This is the fourth side Tavernier has been linked to recently. Previously, Aston Villa, West Brom, and Brighton were credited as interested parties [Daily Mail].

As for Morelos, he’s been a near constant source of speculation throughout the season. This isn’t the first time Rodgers has been linked with the Colombian, though. Sky Sports reported El Bufalo as a target for both Leicester and Borussia Dortmund, back in March.
With interest levels so high, the Gers may have to accept losing one of these two stars.

However, to lose both to the same club, and to former nemesis, Brendan Rodgers, would really sting.
It’s not just pride that would be damaged, either. These two scored 32 goals between them for the Gers in the SPL last season. That’s a substantial portion of the overall total of 82.
Skipper, Tavernier, provides a constant threat down the right side, while Morelos is the club’s most prolific scorer in years.
