Rangers target Danilo may face an uncertain future with Feyenoord as the Dutch champions target a new striker.

The Gers have added a third attacking signing of the summer by bringing in Nigerian international striker Cyriel Dessers.

Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima have already arrived as they look to get their careers back on track after a few difficult campaigns.

Dessers is being brought in as a proven goalscorer who should find the net regularly for Rangers.

Whether Rangers go for one more is unclear amid conflicting reports about a move for Feyenoord attacker Danilo.

The Scottish Sun claim that Rangers will make a new move for Danilo having already had one bid rejected.

The Herald have gone in a different direction though, stating that Rangers have put their interest in Danilo on the back burner having landed Dessers.

It may be difficult for Rangers to add another attacker unless somebody like Antonio Colak, Kemar Roofe or Rabbi Matondo moves on.

Still, Rangers may still have one eye on Danilo and his future could now be impacted as Feyenoord chase a new striker…

Feyenoord are in the market for a new hitman with Kronen Zeitung in Austria claiming that they want Sturm Graz forward Emanuel Emegha.

AS Roma and Red Bull Salzburg are also interested though and Sturm Graz want a fee of around €12million (£10.25million).

That’s a hefty outlay for Emegha and Feyenoord may find this transfer race a little tricky.

The giant 6ft 5in striker came through the ranks with Feyenoord’s city rivals Sparta, so a return to Rotterdam may either be very appealing or a complete no-no.

Emegha scored 10 goals last season and at just 20, he appears to have major potential.

Emegha is a completely different player to Danilo but Feyenoord wouldn’t be splashing around £10million on a new striker not to use them.

The Dutchman would surely be prime competition for star striker Santiago Gimenez with Danilo either being relegated to third choice – or being made available.

Even if a move for Emegha doesn’t pay off, Feyenoord appear to be looking at striking options as they prepare for the Champions League.

Ricardo Pepi was on their radar but the American has picked PSV Eindhoven, leaving Feyenoord to consider other options such as Emegha.

Danilo may well be sacrificed to make room for another forward, and Rangers would be wise to keep tabs on his situation in case a deal can be thrashed out.
