Anwar El Ghazi is not going to be short of offers as a winger at his peak and available on a free transfer, if Rangers don’t ask, they won’t get.

With no injuries to worry about, the 28-year old is the perfect Bosman signing and has the sort of pedigree that Michael Beale should be looking for to kickstart his season.

What Anwar El Ghazi would bring to Rangers is the perfect balance from a winger or wide forward and analysis on DataMB shows just how good he is.

Anwar only started 12 Eredivisie games last season which is why his tally of eight goals is impressive.

Not only that, but as the visual below shows, he compares favourably with one of the best wide men in the business in Bukayo Saka.

On expected goals and expected assists, El Ghazi comes out on top against Saka and it is the same for non-penalty goals and key passes.

Anwar El Ghazi would bring exactly the type of numbers and intent that has been missing from the Rangers attack.

The Netherlands international also has the ball carrying and dribbling skills that we have missed since Ryan Kent departed and it is easy to see why he isn’t short of offers.

Michael Beale hasn’t quite been given a blank cheque but he has cleared a lot of heavy hitters off the wage bill and would have room for such a player, especially with others still to leave over the next two windows.

If every Rangers fans needed something to restore confidence and bring a bit of excitement, it would be signing the type of player that Anwar El Ghazi is.
