Borna Barisic had a mixed time at Rangers before leaving on a free transfer last summer.
There is no doubting the Croatian left-back was a major part of Steven Gerrard’s side that brought the league title back to Ibrox in 2020/21.
From an individual point of view he had already blossomed before that with his ability to get forward and deliver dangerous crosses from the left a real weapon for the team.
Latterly, things did not go as well and Barisic was in and out of a side that wasn’t exactly performing to the level expected.
And the former Rangers ace hasn’t been enjoying his spell at Trabzonspor so far, his signing recently labelled a ‘big mistake.’
In fact, Trabzonspor were reported to be considering terminating Barisic’s contract as he struggles for playing time.
Despite things not working out well for him currently, the 32-year-old has recommended a signing to Gers.

Barisic endorses Rangers transfer target Marko Soldo
Earlier this month, Rangers News exclusively revealed that Rangers were looking at midfielder Marko Soldo as a potential signing.
The 21-year-old plays for NK Osijek and has shone in the Croatian top flight this season, adding goals and assists to his name.
He is also a Croatia under-21s star and we understand he is valued at around £2.5million.
Barisic started out at Osijek, his hometown team, before moving to Ibrox and it would appear he is a big fan of Soldo.
The Daily Mail are reporting he has given a glowing recommendation to his old team and urged they snap up Soldo in the January window.
Soldo described as ‘extremely powerful’
Describing the player, a Croatian outlet insist Rangers would be getting an ‘extremely powerful’ midfielder’.
Germanijak state: “He can be in charge of defensive stability, for creation, or to have the role of a box-to-box midfielder, who is powerful in running, attacks the space in the attacking phase.
“The way he was used in the Croatian U21 national team, where coach Ivica Olic asked him to be a player responsible for creating and dictating the tempo. This is definitely not a context that suits him.
“Soldo is a modern midfielder who can be found all over the field and who is clearly good at positions that are not his natural. And that says enough about the character trait he carries within himself and his ability to adapt.
“He is also extremely powerful and versatile physically.”
