Borna Barisic has one year left on his Rangers contract and the Croatian left-back could be faced with a decision to make this summer.
Last year Joe Aribo was sold to Southampton before his value dwindled and the Ibrox hierarchy will want to avoid a repeat of the situation that sees Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent potentially walking out for nothing in a matter of weeks.
Although, for Kent, we already seem to have a replacement lined up in Todd Cantwell.

The 30-year old is at a pivotal point in his career and he will want to either secure a new contract knowing that Ridvan Yilmaz will be pushing him next season, or move on to pastures new.
The Premier League has long been rumoured as a destination and, with 30-caps to his name, he shouldn’t be short of offers in Europe’s top leagues.
What is the latest on Borna Barisic’s Rangers future?
Speaking to GiveMeSport, former Sky Sports journalist Pete O’Rourke reckons that it could be an eventful window for Michael Beale’s number 31:
“I think it’s going to be another interesting summer for Borna Barisic.
“He’s going into the final year of his contract at Ibrox and he’s been mentioned in transfer windows gone by as potentially moving on from Rangers.
“He’s now 30-years old, so I think it is coming to a time of his career that if he is to leave, this could be the window for him to potentially move.
“That’s especially if he wants to come to the Premier League and he’s going to have to do it sooner rather than later right now.”
Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale have both been robbed of the services of Ridvan Yilmaz for almost the entire season otherwise Barisic’s decision could have been a lot easier.
The dynamic, young Turkey international with a price tag that could rise to a reported £5m if he performs as hoped.
Barisic won’t be stupid; he will know that Ridvan is being earmarked to replace him and the younger left-back’s running game will give the Gers gaffer a different dimension in attack.
With nearly 50 assists at Ibrox, Barisic’s output will be hard to replace but for £2.2m Rangers have got their money’s worth out of a player capable of the fantastic and the frustrating in equal measure.
