Italian outlet 1000 Cuori Rossoblu reports that Bologna are interested in Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
It’s stated that the Serie A side are currently in talks with Atalanta with a view to signing 21-year-old striker Musa Barrow.

However, it’s suggested that Morelos is a ‘new name’ on their list of transfer targets and that should the move for Barrow break down, they will turn to El Bufalo.
The report claims that Bologna are currently offering €12 million for Barrow and so they are clearly willing to part with an eight-figure fee for a new striker.
Verdict
Bologna are the latest in a long line of clubs to supposedly show interest in the Colombian striker and given that the story comes from a dedicated Bolognese sports outlet, there’s a chance there’s something in it. Yet, we can’t see this one happening either this month or in the summer.
Just as with James Tavernier, the Gers won’t be looking to sell Morelos for any fee in this window. He’s simply too integral to the club’s quest for silverware and the fact that he’s contracted until 2023 ensures there’s no immediate pressure to sell.

A summer departure is more likely, but even then, there’s a sense that the 23-year-old is now simply too good for a club such as Bologna.
Serie A is a highly regarded league and currently sitting in eighth place in the table, the ‘I Rossoblu’ have enjoyed a decent first half of the season.
Yet, Morelos is currently the top goalscorer in the Europa League and if and when he does leave, it should be to a club with lofty European ambitions and for a much bigger fee than €12 million.
