Rangers may face problems bringing Fenerbahce striker Michy Batshuayi to Ibrox amid claims his wages are a stumbling block.
Rangers have already landed one new striker this month by bringing Fabio Silva in on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Philippe Clement may still want one more striker though with Kemar Roofe likely to move on in the summer and Danilo out injured.
Add in the struggles of Cyriel Dessers and Rangers may well look to bring in one more forward before the transfer window closes.
There are now surprise rumours surrounding a deal for Fenerbahce hitman Michy Batshuayi – but the finances may be a problem.
Belgian reporter shares latest on Rangers interest in Michy Batshuayi
Batshuayi has been proposed to Rangers according to Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri.
Rangers have allegedly put Batshuayi on their list of potential signings but there is ‘no concrete intention’ to strike a deal.
The problem is that Batshuayi earns ‘very high’ wages at Fenerbahce – around €3.5million-a-year.
That would leave Rangers to pay around £67,000-a-week for a deal until the end of the season.
A loan with Fenerbahce chipping in is unlikely given that Batshuayi’s contract expires at the end of the campaign.

The finances just don’t seem to be viable for Rangers unless Batshuayi is willing to take a hefty pay cut to make the move to Ibrox.
Maybe fellow Belgian Clement can tempt Batshuayi to Glasgow, but this is a deal we just can’t see happening right now.
The 30-year-old striker has hit eight goals in 21 games for Fenerbahce this season but has only started one league games.
Batshuayi looks destined to leave Fenerbahce one way or another, just two years since leaving Chelsea for a permanent move to Turkey.
The former Marseille star hasn’t quite lived up to his potential but would still be an enormous coup for Rangers and Clement if some kind of agreement can be thrashed out this month.
