Reports coming out of Belgium have claimed that Rangers have struck a deal with out-of-contract Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin – but a fee is yet to be agreed between the clubs.
Ibrox manager Michael Beale was asked about the interest heading into the Scottish Cup clash with St Johnstone and the Englishman praised the midfielder whilst also admitting the Ibrox side’s interest.

Now that appears to have been stepped up with reports in Belgium claiming Rangers have agreed personal terms with the player ahead of a potential move.
”Another good player to be fair,” said Michael Beale.
”A player I remember a lot from the time we played Standard Liege. He missed the first game against Rangers, but he played in the second leg.
”He’s a player that I’m aware of, very good player, he’s obviously out of contract in the summer and he’s attracting a lot of attention.
“There’s an interest from us but I’m sure there is from a number of clubs.”
Nicolas Raskin ‘agrees Rangers terms’
Out of contract in the summer, Rangers are free to discuss terms with Nicolas Raskin but according to reports the Ibrox side are yet to agree a fee with Standard Liege.
In fact, Nieuwsblad are reporting that Rangers are yet to submit an offer for the player meaning that as things stand any prospective transfer is yet to be agreed this January.
This will have some nerves jangling regarding the deal with everyone well aware no deal is official until the Rangers scarf is above their head and fans are hoping a fee doesn’t represent a stumbling block.
Rangers were linked with a move for Nicolas Raskin in the summer with a deal having said to collapse in the shadow of Glen Kamara’s failed late summer switch to OGC Nice.
However, now it appears the Ibrox side have agreed a switch for the player, who has been relegated to the Standard Liege reserves whilst the details of his future are thrashed out.
Nicolas Raskin is a Belgian U21 international and even played at Ibrox with Standard a few seasons ago, turning out in the 3-2 Rangers Europa League win over Liege in the 20/21 season.
Meanwhile, there’s a debate raging surrounding the future of one Rangers star.
