Former Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson is backing Ryan Jack to win a new deal – if he can prove his fitness.
The ex-Ibrox midfielder has thrown his support behind the Rangers star, who has been experiencing criticism from within the Scotland support.

And whilst Barry Ferguson reckons Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin has started their Rangers careers well, he’s attributed their freedom to the role of Ryan Jack.
The midfielder is a driving presence and standard-setter in the middle of the park for Rangers and has been a solid performer over the years.
But the issue – as with so many in this team – is whether or not the 31-year-old can stay fit.
Barry Ferguson backs Ryan Jack to win Rangers deal
Now back in the Rangers team and Scotland set-up, Ferguson is backing Jack to win a new deal if he does.
Speaking to GO Radio [29/03/23], the pundit reckons that more than that Ryan Jack could prove a key player in Michael Beale’s rebuild.
“A lot of people have been talking about (Nicolas) Raskin and (Todd) Cantwell, and rightly so because they have impressed but Ryan Jack’s been a big part of that,” said Barry Ferguson.
“He’s the one that keeps it solid in the middle of the pitch and lets the footballers go and do their stuff.
“The only issue with Ryan Jack is making sure he continues to be fit week in and week out, and if Jack is free of injury, I still think he’s got a big part to play at Rangers.”
When he’s not been talking about Ryan Jack, Barry Ferguson was recently back at Ibrox himself too.
The midfielder played in the 4-3 Rangers Legends defeat to a World XI, with the decision to make the ex-Ibrox star captain courting controversy.
