Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez has responded after being asked about the possibility of him joining former teammate Steven Gerrard at Rangers [Liverpool Echo].
Gerrard assisted many Suarez goals when the two played alongside each other at Liverpool between 2011 and 2014, before the Uruguayan left for Barcelona.

Now 34, he’s at the back end of his career, but he still scored an impressive 21 goals as Atletico won La Liga last season.
He’s contracted to the Spanish capital club until the end of next season but the Liverpool Echo asserts that in an interview with World Soccer Magazine, he was asked about the prospect of linking up with Stevie G at Ibrox.
“I think Stevie is doing just fine without me!” he’s quoted as saying, before moving on to address the scouser’s managerial future.
“I am pleased but not at all surprised to see him win the league with Rangers. Winning is what he does and at some point in the future I am sure he will be at Liverpool again.”

Rangers showed last season that they are very much the best team in Scotland once again, while their standing in Europe has improved following two strong Europa League campaigns.
However, not even the most ardent supporter would suggest that Suarez would be a realistic transfer target.
He pretty much dodged the question before throwing his support behind Gerrard’s managerial career, but Bears may be happy enough with a shoutout of sorts from Barcelona’s third all-time top goalscorer.
A more realistic target for the Light Blues this summer is Bright Osayi-Samuel and Rangers News spoke exclusively to an EFL expert to get some insight into the pacy winger.
