Rangers striker Antonio Colak has announced a new agent switch as doubts continue to surround Michael Beale’s interest in the Croatian striker.
The Gers splashed a reported £1.8m to sign Colak from Greek outfit PAOK in the summer but if the latest news posted on the player’s Instagram account is anything to go by his stint in Glasgow might be short-lived.
Antonio Colak has revealed that he’s signed a deal with sports consultancy firm CAA Stellar as the 29-year-old striker gets a new agent heading into the summer window.
Whilst there’s been no official suggestion that Rangers are to part ways with the striker, who signed a three-year deal in the summer, the ex-Malmo star’s gametime has been severely limited under Michael Beale.
Injuries have certainly disrupted the second part of the season for the striker – as they have all campaign-long in the Rangers squad – but Alfredo Morelos has been firmly Beale’s first choice.
Antonio Colak agent switch raises Rangers questions
Rangers have been notoriously shot shy and perhaps it is quite telling that despite the fact Michael Beale appears consigned to the face Alfredo Morelos is leaving, the Colombian is still preferred over Antonio Colak.
It would perhaps go against earlier comments from Beale, who claimed that Rangers had their eye on Antonio Colak ever since he fired Malmo to the Champions League playoff at the Ibrox side’s expense in 2021.
But the reaction of the manager when told about comments from Aberdeen star Anthony Stewart, where he suggested Colak was a better player than Morelos, give an insight into the striker’s standing in the Gers squad.
Starting the season on explosive form for Rangers, Antonio Colak had scored 14 goals by mid November but as the goals have dried up, and a new agent has been announced, there are question marks over his future.
Since Beale has come into the club the Croatian has only scored three times, including a double in the 4-1 win over Hibs, with the forward once again out of the side heading into the campaign’s final furlong.
