The pre-season friendlies are well underway and Alfredo Morelos has yet to find himself a new club after leaving Rangers.
El Bufalo has been enjoying an extended break at home which probably isn’t wise given he isn’t exactly the most natural of athletes.
Now, as reported by The Daily Record, Alfredo Morelos has revealed where he wants to play and how close he is to a move.
The 27-year old should be approaching his peak, and yet, even as a free agent, he isn’t knocking back the offers.

Moving to a new club, he will want to hit the ground running.
Missing pre-season training is hard for any player, never mind one who has struggled for fitness since suffering an injury towards the end of 2021/22.

Looking to the future though, Alfredo Morelos, who was once valued at £20m, has explained why he isn’t already back in action after leaving Rangers:
“I have made it clear I want to stay in Europe and play football there. We are currently working towards making that happen. No, I still don’t have anything and there is nothing close, but hopefully something interesting will come up. I am calm and relaxed about the situation. I have been able to spend a lot of time with my family for a change
“That has been nice. I want to play in a good European league which my family would enjoy. I am looking forward to the new season, just as I did every single season when I was at Rangers.
“At Rangers, I had great years there and I am proud of how it went for me when I was there. My favourite memory was winning the Scottish Premiership, but I was pleased with how I did in every season. Now it is just a case of waiting for a new opportunity elsewhere.”
Being calm and relaxed is one thing but his attitude to the situation sums up his last season at Rangers.
Alfredo Morelos was suspended by Rangers because of his attitude to fitness and he doesn’t seem to get that this is an issue.
He won’t get to play at the level he wants to if he turns up for medicals unfit and carrying extra weight.
Morelos needs to do less relaxing and more running, he might get a phone call from his agent that way.
