Bojan Miovski could consider leaving Rangers this summer following the arrival of Lawrence Shankland from Hearts.

Shankland’s presence in the squad means that the North Macedonian forward will be the fourth-choice number nine.

He signed last summer under the impression that he would be playing regularly, but the 2025/26 campaign did not pan out quite as he would have wanted.

Lawrence Shankland's arrival will surely change things!

Aberdeen unlikely to afford Bojan Miovski’s services on a permanent transfer

According to Sean Wallace of the Press and Journal, Aberdeen are unlikely to be able to afford signing Miovski permanently.

The 26-year-old has three more years left on his contract at Ibrox as he signed a four-year deal when he sealed a £4m move.

That transfer fee represented a significant investment from the Light Blues as they believed he could be a first-team regular.

Any sale this summer would mean that they would want to recoup most of what they paid to sign him a year ago.

Aberdeen may not be able to afford that fee or meet his salary demands, but they could secure his services on loan.

What has Miovski said about his Rangers future?

When asked about a potential exit this summer, Miovski was unwilling to entirely rule out leaving Ibrox.

While he did mention that he had a three-year deal at Rangers, he also admitted that his priority is to play regularly.

The mention of sitting on the bench is a clear indicator that he was not happy with the way the 2025/26 season transpired on an individual level as well.

How many league goals will Shankland score for Rangers next season?

He could fire Rangers to a domestic treble!

Miovski told Flashscore: “You can’t rule out anything (regarding his future), but I’ve got a three-year contract with Rangers and would definitely like to feature more prominently next season rather than sit on the bench. As I said, I’m a competitor and would like to play more.”

Thus far, there have been no indications from the club that they are looking to cash in on the 26-year-old this summer.

That said, in case he asks to leave and there is a club that matches the Gers’ valuation, they are unlikely to come in his way.
