“A source also told me..” – Rangers not done yet as Sky Sports journo drops new transfer claim

Rangers have had a busy transfer window so far as the clocks tick down on the final day of Philippe Clement’s first in his tenure.

The Gers boss has managed to improve his squad and there might be one or two new faces paraded at Ibrox this weekend.

As we all know though, anything can happen on transfer deadline day and deals can be done anytime up until 11:30pm, with Rangers tipped to give Philippe Clement a boost according to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge.

Rangers to give Philippe Clement deadline day bonus?

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the reporter has been told that Fabio Silva, Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes won’t be the only names through the door:

“A source also told me there might be one more, so we’ll have to wait and see.

“But I think if Clement got four in, he’d be delighted because I don’t think he inherited the best squad in the world, and he inherited players who came in in the summer who just haven’t done enough.”

Jeftes is the other name that has been already included too in a potential deal that will happen in the summer.

There is one position that Rangers fans are united in believing that they feel needs to be strengthened – another striker.

Silva and Cortes will provide depth to the forward line but neither have a track record of scoring goals consistently.

If Rangers were able to bring in another number nine, Philippe Clement could have little to complain about given that January is notoriously hard to recruit strikers in.

As with Silva, Cortes and Diomande, there have been no names mentioned in recent days with only Lawrence Shankland getting column inches.

A link that has been going round in circles despite Hearts receiving no notes of interest or bids.

There isn’t long left, if Rangers want a striker, they will have to move fast.

Should “one more” arrive and it isn’t a striker, what should be seen as a good window will be questioned.

The fickle nature of football fans.
