Rangers continue to push for the signing of Feyenoord striker Danilo but Arne Slot is causing the move to stall.
The Gers have already secured three attacking signings this summer with Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers arriving at Ibrox.
Antonio Colak has gone though having completed a move to Parma, meaning Rangers will now go back in for a new forward.
The Daily Record report that Rangers are trying to thrash out a deal for Feyenoord forward Danilo.
It’s suggested that Feyenoord want at least £6million for Danilo, but Rangers aren’t backing away.
James Bisgrove is handling negotiations with Rangers hopeful of getting a deal done.
It’s added that Danilo is pushing Feyenoord chiefs to let him go – but it’s boss Arne Slot holding up a potential moe.
The Feyenoord boss wants to add to his own attacking options before losing Danilo.
Feyenoord will head back into the Champions League this season and selling Danilo would leave Slot with just Santiago Gimenez up top.
That means Rangers may face a wait to sign Danilo, which is bound to become frustrating.
Michael Beale could turn to a diamond if Rangers sign Danilo
We often saw Rangers setup in a 4-3-1-2 shape under Michael Beale last season.
That sometimes meant Ryan Kent dropping in to play behind Fashion Sakala and Alfredo Morelos.
Kent – a natural winger – has left Rangers this summer and the Gers have mostly gone for central attackers.
Sima can play out wide if needed and Rangers and Lammers has previously played on the right flank.
Ideally though, Sima, Lammers, Dessers and Danilo would all prefer to play centrally.
That means we could see the 4-3-1-2 shape again with Todd Cantwell or Lammers sitting behind Danilo and Dessers.
That would be a very exciting attacking setup for Rangers and Beale will be desperate for the green light to sign Brazilian ace Danilo.
