£4m Rangers ace wanted by mystery Saudi Arabian club

Rangers forward Fashion Sakala continues to be targeted by a mystery Saudi Arabian club despite him rejecting them once.

The Gers may focus on offloading a few layers after such a busy summer to date.

We saw Antonio Colak move on to Parma and more attacking departures would make sense.

Rangers have now brought in four forwards this summer with Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and Danilo all arriving.

Fashion Sakala may be one player primed for an exit – especially with interest in him emerging from Saudi Arabia.

The 4th Official claimed earlier in July that an unnamed Saudi Arabian club were in advanced talks over a £4million deal for Sakala.

However, the Daily Mail added just a few days ago that Sakala had rejected the move to the Middle East.

However, this rumour doesn’t appear to be over just yet…

Fashion Sakala still wanted in Saudi Arabia

Argentinian reporter Cesar Luis Merlo reports that an unnamed Saudi Arabian club are insisting on signing Sakala.

Despite receiving a rejection from their first approach, the club in question are still pushing.

Merlo claims that if certain ‘conditions’ are met, Sakala may end up deciding to quit Rangers for Saudi Arabia after all.

It’s unclear just who is trying to sign Saudi Arabia, but would anyone be stunned if it was Al Ettifaq?

Steven Gerrard is in charge there and he was Rangers boss when Sakala arrived from Oostende in 2021.

Gerrard hailed Sakala as an ‘incredible’ human being and is seemingly a fan of the Zambian.

The one caveat here is that Al Ettifaq are already at their limit for foreign players after landing Jordan Henderson, Moussa Dembele and Jack Hendry in recent days.

Moving for Sakala would mean offloading a couple of players – something which Gerrard may think is worthwhile.

That’s just us wondering who could be in for Sakala, but we can imagine that Rangers would happily take £4million for a player who joined for free and doesn’t seem to have a key role under Michael Beale this coming season.
