Rangers are set to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva on loan until the end of the season as the January window looms.

Rangers invested in a couple of strikers over the summer as Cyriel Dessers and Danilo both arrived at Ibrox.

The pair have blown hot and cold so far and Danilo is now facing a spell on the sidelines, so Philippe Clement wants another forward.

Rumours last week suggested that Wolves striker Fabio Silva was a key target and it looks like Rangers have put a deal in place…

Luca Bendoni, one of Gianluca Di Marzio’s reporters, claimed earlier today that Silva has accepted a loan move to Scotland until the end of the season.

Bendoni suggested that Rangers were looking like the most probably destination despite links with rivals Celtic.

Fabrizio Romano now claims that there is a ‘deal in place’ and has given the move his usual ‘here we go’ tagline.

Romano reports that Silva will soon sign his contract with Rangers but the deal will have no purchase option included.

Romano also claims that boss Clement and director of football Nils Koppen have been absolutely vital to Silva’s arrival.

Silva impressed on loan at Anderlecht in Clement and Koppen’s native Belgium last season and then joined Koppen at PSV Eindhoven.

Silva has now taken to social media to post an hourglass emoji, hinting that he will have some news to share very soon.

It looks like the news is that Silva is heading to Rangers in what looks like a very exciting move.

Wolves paid £35million to sign Silva from Porto in 2020, spotting his potential after just 21 senior appearances at Porto.

The move hasn’t really worked out and Silva is now heading off on loan for a third time since moving to Molineux despite Conor Coady branding him ‘fantastic’.

Silva hit 16 goals in 51 games across loan spells with Anderlecht and PSV last season and Rangers will now be looking for him to chip in with goals between now and the summer.
