Football Insider report that Jason Holt’s time is up as a Rangers player.

However, the report claims there is no chance of an extension to that deal.
Furthermore, it’s suggested that Rangers will encourage Holt to find a permanent new home this summer.
The news comes after Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton recently expressed a desire to keep him [

The 26-year-old has been on loan with the Trawlermen all season, racking up 33 League One appearances and scoring once.
However, he picked up a serious injury at Accrington last month and is returning to Glasgow for treatment.

Verdict

It’s no huge surprise that there are no plans to offer Holt a new deal with Rangers.
Neither is it a shock that the club should look to secure his departure before the end of his contract, in order to benefit from a sell on fee.
It’s unlikely the Gers will get anything near his Transfermarkt valuation, but every little helps ahead of a big summer.
Holt performed admirably during his time at Ibrox, playing 89 times and scoring twelve times in the league.
Going forward, though, there’s simply no room for him in the Rangers midfield. Therefore, letting him move elsewhere this summer, makes a lot of sense.
