With interest in the youngster increasing, Rangers cannot afford to sell Alfredo Morelos at any price.
Bordeaux have had a £3.75million bid booted out for the Colombian according to Sky Sports. It’s unknown what Rangers value the 22-year-old at, but they have to continue in the same vein of rejecting offers for their star-striker.
Mainly because of the timing. The transfer window in Scotland is close to finalising at the end of August. This means that Rangers have barely any time to find an adequate replacement.

With momentum building nicely at Ibrox, Rangers simply cannot weaken their side before the season starts. The club would be shooting themselves in the foot if they do.
Secondly, Morelos is still just 22-years-old. At that age, he remains a special young talent regardless of his inconsistency at times. Letting him go now would see huge potential leave Ibrox for a quick bung.

The Colombian has shown in the early part of the season that he has a huge role to play this campaign. Vital Europa League qualifying goals have led to fans getting back onside with their star-striker again. Losing him at this stage of the qualifying campaign would be a massive blow to the supporters who’re warming to him more each week.
As well as that, Rangers have consistently been in the market for a third striker. Kyle Lafferty remains their number one target, and losing Morelos will significantly weaken that front-line.

Despite the pedigree of Lafferty in Scotland, Rangers would be playing with fire by relying on him. Morelos is worth his weight in goals, and is guaranteed to net a bundle. The same cannot be said of Umar Sadiq, who the fans have yet to see properly in competitive action.
Accepting a bid for Morelos now is the wrong way to go about things. If Rangers want to make a serious fist of challenging for the title, letting key stars go this late sends out the wrong message.
Morelos has proved he has the ability to make a big impact in this team. Taking that away from the club for a few million would be a huge kick in the gut for Gerrard.
